Music Lessons for Kids
Your child wants to learn an instrument? Perfect! I've been teaching children for over 30 years — playful, patient, and with plenty of humor. Piano, melodica, keyboard, or accordion. Live via Zoom in short 20-30 minute lessons, and parents are always welcome to watch.
Music that makes kids' eyes light up
Children learn differently from adults. They need short, varied sessions, clear wins, and most of all: fun. That's exactly what my kids' lessons are built around.
Each session is 20–30 minutes — long enough for real progress, short enough to keep focus. We switch between demonstration, imitation, rhythm games, and improvisation. No drilling, just playful discovery. And the best part: parents can sit beside their child, watch, and even join in!
I use colorful note cards, memory aids, and songs kids actually love — from nursery rhymes to movie themes from Frozen or Harry Potter. The lessons adapt to your child's interests, not the other way around.
- Short 20-30 min sessions — just right for kids
- Colorful materials, games & memory aids
- Songs your child actually wants to play
- Parents always welcome to watch
- No pressure — a playful start to music
A teacher who understands kids
I've been teaching children since my university days — at music schools, privately, and online since 2020. Over three decades I've guided hundreds of young students, from their very first note to their own compositions. My name is Mirco Lieber, I'm a concert musician (MDW Vienna) specialized in teaching children.
The key is patience. Kids are allowed to make mistakes, ask questions, and bring their own ideas. If a child isn't in the mood today, we play a game instead of an étude. If they desperately want to learn a specific song, we build the technique around it. The material is flexible — the child comes first.
And because every child is different, there's no single method. Some kids love colorful note cards, others want to jump straight in and play by ear. Some need lots of encouragement, others want to be challenged. I adapt — with a smile and plenty of humor.
What makes us different
20-30 Minute Lessons
Short, sharp, kid-friendly. Longer isn't better — regular is. Two 20-minute sessions beat one 60-minute lesson every time.
Fun Over Pressure
No strict practice schedules. We play, improvise, and laugh a lot. The joy of music always comes first.
Parents Are Welcome
Sit beside your child, watch the progress, and join in. No black-box teaching — you'll always know exactly what's being learned.
Which instrument is right for your child?
Every child is different. That's why I offer four instruments — from the easiest start to a unique challenge. In a free trial lesson we'll find the perfect fit together.
Melodica
Light, colorful, instant fun! The melodica is small, affordable, and works just like a piano — press a key, hear a note. Perfect for kids ages 6 and up. Best of all: you can take it anywhere! Read our full guide: Melodica for Kids: The Ideal First Instrument.
